Privacy policy
Updated October 14, 2026
Scorington is a score keeper for card and board games, made by Nivius Labs. It’s free, it has no ads, and it doesn’t track you. This page says what it keeps, where, and why.
Your games stay on your device
Your games, the players you add and your settings are saved on your device. In the iPhone and iPad app, a second copy is kept in the app’s own files, so the device doesn’t clear it to make space.
None of it is sent anywhere unless you send feedback, or sign in to back up on the website (both below). You can erase it all in Settings, under Data & backup, or by deleting the app.
Feedback you choose to send
When you send feedback, the report carries:
- Whether it’s a suggestion or an issue
- What you wrote
- Your email address, only if you give one
- The version of Scorington
- Which screen you sent it from, never a game or anybody’s name
- A made-up label for your device, like “iPhone-4k2x”
- A random code created on your device, so two reports from it can be told apart from two people’s
- When you wrote it
Your browser or phone also sends its user agent, the name and version of its software, and that is kept with the report. On the website, if you’re signed in, the report is linked to your account.
Reports go to Scorington’s server, which Nivius Labs runs, and are copied to a private Google Sheet that only Nivius Labs reads, which Google stores for it. They’re used to fix problems, weigh suggestions and reply if you left an email address, and are kept until they’re no longer needed for that. Ask and your reports will be deleted.
Backup on the website (optional)
On the Scorington website you can sign in with Google to back up your games and share them with your household. The iPhone and iPad app has no sign-in.
If you sign in, Scorington keeps your name, your email address and your Google account ID; the household you start or join; and your games and players, including the names you typed. A cookie keeps you signed in. Copies of the server are kept for 14 days as a backup. Ask and your account and its games will be deleted.
Usage statistics on the website
The website counts pages viewed and features used, with analytics that Nivius Labs runs itself rather than a third party. They use no cookies and no advertising identifiers. They can see which of the built-in games was played, but never a name you typed, for a game or a player. The iPhone and iPad app sends none.
Server logs
Like most websites, the server records each request it receives (the time, the page, your IP address and the type of browser) to keep it running and secure. These logs are kept only for a limited time.
Apple
If you got Scorington from the App Store, Apple’s own privacy policy covers the download. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, the developer account that publishes Scorington receives Apple’s crash reports and usage summaries.
What Scorington never does
It shows no ads, sells nothing about you, and shares nothing for advertising. It doesn’t track you across other apps or websites. It doesn’t use your location, contacts, camera or microphone. It saves a picture to your photos only when you choose Save Image.
Children
Scorington isn’t directed at children and doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Feedback and sign-in are optional, and nothing else leaves the device.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will say so, with the date it changed.
